This is a creative way to share bits of your life! Your handwriting is so nice too. Hope you keep your blog up, when you look back on it you and your children will one day appreciate all the more! http://nichollmcguire.blogspot.com

I found your other blog on Nazarite vows. I've taught on Nazarites for years, usually to adults, but most recently to a church group for grade school boys. The boys loved the study and even suggested their own ways of applying the principles to their lives.

- Accepting society's disapproval (for the sake of Christ)
- Abstaining from frivolous pleasures
- Avoiding uncleanness in thought and deed

My health declined a couple years ago, so I started a Nazarite vow (kind of a silent prayer) that will last until my strength recovers. (Samson's example!) There's no shortage of societal disapproval now that I'm usually mistaken for a hippie, vagrant, or outlaw biker.

A few final thoughts...

- Besides Samson and John the Baptist, Samuel was a lifetime Nazarite,
- Paul took Nazarite vows of shorter duration
- Paul also assisted four young men in completing their own Nazarite vows
- Absalom's "heavy" hair could be attributable to a Nazarite vow
- Nebuchadnezzar as Nazarite (as you suggested) is a new one by me - but it's an intriguing thought!
